The COIN Canvas.
COIN’s number one tool for how to take an idea and turn it into a reality.
Our version of a customer focussed one page business plan. Provides one place to get all your thoughts down on paper, to enable you to see your idea as a whole. Helps you to answer important questions about various aspects of your idea/business in a meaningful way. It allows you to see what gaps you have and where you need more support and how COIN can help. Fran will take you through each box individually, how to complete your own canvas and answer any questions.
In person in the COIN South Innovation Center
Bring your lunch, we supply the coffee and tea.
Fran Hesp, Start Up Lead will be hosting the session
Session Two | 8 August
The Customer.
We talk about how important creating a customer centric business is and how it is integral to the success of a business.
We use various tools to help you identify who your customers are and who they are not and how to tell the difference, using examples. Now you think you know who they are, how do you find them?

Session Three | 15 August
Customer Journey and Validation.
Tools and tips to validate the problem you believe your customer has that your solution solves for them.
Now we know who your customer is, where do you find them or how do they find you?
We take you through the customer journey tool to identify each opportunity for your brand to be a part of your customers life and how we can increase these opportunities and build on them.
The tool can be used for any process and any part of a business so we will work through an example together so it will be easy for you to continue to use.

Session Four | 22 August
Pitching
We take you through three types of pitches you will likely encounter along your entrepreneurial journey; your elevator pitch, a one minute pitch and a longer 5 minute pitch.
We address how to write your pitch, using slides (or not) and how to deliver it in an authentic and relaxed way.
Afterwards you will be ready to pitch your idea at the popcorn pitch event the following week - for lots of you this will be the first time you are pitching your idea. The fun, relaxed and super supportive environment at popcorn pitch is a great opportunity to put the skills you have learned into practice and get your first pitch under your belt.
